Charlie's Angels is a 2000 American action comedy directed by McG. Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu star as the three Angels โ Natalie, Dylan, and Alex โ elite private investigators working for the mysterious, never-seen Charlie Townsend, investigating the kidnapping of a tech mogul whose voice-identification software could compromise global security. Sam Rockwell plays the kidnapped Roger Corwin and Bill Murray replaces the late John Forsythe as Bosley, the Angels' handler.
McG directed the film as a candy-colored, physics-defying action fantasy, with the Angels performing elaborate Hong Kong-style wire-fu martial arts in designer outfits while the soundtrack pulsed with pop hits. Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu's chemistry โ three friends having the time of their lives while kicking ass โ gave the film an infectious energy. Charlie's Angels earned $264 million worldwide on a $93 million budget.
