What are the best action movies of all time? ThumbScore answers that question using real audience data — not critic reviews or algorithmic recommendations. Our ThumbScore rating shows the percentage of everyday Google users who gave a movie a thumbs up, making it a direct measure of audience enjoyment. This page ranks action movies by that score, so you can find the most thrilling films that real people actually loved.
Unlike traditional movie ranking sites that rely on critic consensus, ThumbScore reflects the voice of everyday moviegoers. A 94% ThumbScore on an action movie means 94 out of 100 viewers were on the edge of their seat. We also show the Critics Score (an average of Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic) so you can compare audience and critic opinions on the biggest blockbusters. Use the decade filters and search above to find your next adrenaline-pumping watch.
