Click is a 2006 American fantasy comedy-drama directed by Frank Coraci. Adam Sandler stars as Michael Newman, a workaholic architect who receives a universal remote control from Morty, a mysterious employee at a Bed Bath & Beyond "Beyond" section played by Christopher Walken, that can control reality โ pausing, fast-forwarding, rewinding, and muting his actual life. Initially using the remote for convenience and revenge, Michael discovers the remote's auto-pilot feature has been fast-forwarding through the most important moments of his life โ his children growing up, his marriage deteriorating, his parents aging and dying โ while he was absent chasing professional success.
Click surprised audiences and critics by shifting from crude Sandler comedy to genuinely emotional drama in its third act, with Michael's realization that he has missed his entire life producing what many consider Sandler's most authentically moving performance. The scene of Michael crawling through a rainy parking lot to tell his grown son not to repeat his mistakes was devastating. Click earned $237 million worldwide on a $82 million budget.
