Game Night is a 2018 American action comedy directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams star as Max and Annie Davis, a hyper-competitive married couple who host a weekly game night with friends. When Max's charismatic, wealthy brother Brooks, played by Kyle Chandler, organizes an elaborate interactive murder mystery game, the players discover that an actual kidnapping has been woven into the fake one, and they can't tell what's real and what's part of the game.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein created one of the most cleverly constructed and visually inventive comedies of its decade, employing tilt-shift cinematography that made real locations look like game boards and using transitions that mimicked dice rolls and game piece movements. Jesse Plemons's performance as Gary, the couple's creepy, recently divorced neighbor desperate to be invited to game night, was the film's comedic highlight. Game Night earned $117 million worldwide on a $37 million budget.
