Paper Towns is a 2015 American romantic mystery comedy-drama directed by Jake Schreier, based on John Green's 2008 novel. Nat Wolff stars as Quentin "Q" Jacobsen, a cautious Orlando teenager who has been in love with his adventurous next-door neighbor Margo Roth Spiegelman, played by Cara Delevingne, since childhood. After Margo takes Q on an all-night revenge spree against her cheating boyfriend and traitorous friends, she disappears, leaving behind a trail of clues that Q and his friends interpret as a treasure map to find her.
The film explored John Green's central theme โ the danger of idealizing another person and projecting your fantasy onto someone who is actually a complex, flawed human being โ with warmth and humor. Nat Wolff brought earnest vulnerability to Q's gradual realization that the Margo he imagined and the real Margo are very different people. Paper Towns earned $85 million worldwide on a $12 million budget.
