Stuart Little is a 1999 American live-action/animated family comedy directed by Rob Minkoff, loosely based on E.B. White's 1945 novel. The Little family โ Eleanor and Frederick, played by Geena Davis and Hugh Laurie โ visit an orphanage to adopt a younger brother for their son George and return home with Stuart, a talking white mouse voiced by Michael J.
Fox. Stuart's attempts to integrate into the family and win over George, who is initially resentful, are complicated by the family cat Snowbell, voiced by Nathan Lane, who is horrified by the social implications of having a mouse as his owner. The CGI Stuart was a technical achievement for 1999, with the digital mouse seamlessly interacting with real environments, props, and actors in a way that felt natural and charming.
Michael J. Fox's vocal performance gave Stuart an earnest, optimistic personality. Stuart Little earned $300 million worldwide on a $103 million budget.
