The A-Team is a 2010 American action comedy directed by Joe Carnahan, based on the 1983-1987 television series. Liam Neeson stars as Colonel Hannibal Smith, the cigar-chomping leader of a team of former U.S. Army Rangers — including Bradley Cooper as the charming Face, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as the imposing B.A.
Baracus, and Sharlto Copley as the certifiably insane pilot Murdock — who are framed for a crime they didn't commit and must clear their names while escaping military prison. The film captured the original series' spirit of over-the-top action and team camaraderie, with elaborate, physics-defying plans that were simultaneously preposterous and entertaining — including flying a tank by shooting its cannon. Sharlto Copley's manic Murdock was the film's comedic MVP.
The A-Team earned $177 million worldwide on a $110 million budget. The film showcased its director's ability to deliver large-scale action spectacle while maintaining the character dynamics that made the property appealing to audiences in the first place.
