365 Days is a 2020 Polish erotic romantic drama directed by Barbara Białowąs and Tomasz Mandes, based on Blanka Lipińska's 2018 novel. The film follows Laura Biel, played by Anna-Maria Sieklucka, a Polish woman on vacation in Sicily who is kidnapped by Massimo Torricelli, played by Michele Morrone, a young Sicilian Mafia boss who gives her 365 days to fall in love with him. The film became a global phenomenon upon its Netflix release, reaching the platform's top ten in numerous countries and generating intense cultural debate about its portrayal of kidnapping and Stockholm syndrome as romantic fantasy.
Critics overwhelmingly condemned the film for romanticizing abduction and sexual coercion, drawing comparisons to Fifty Shades of Grey but with even less narrative sophistication.
