Bridesmaids is a 2011 American comedy directed by Paul Feig, written by Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo. Wiig stars as Annie Walker, a struggling, single bakery owner whose life is falling apart when her best friend Lillian, played by Maya Rudolph, announces her engagement. Annie is appointed maid of honor but finds herself competing for Lillian's affection with Helen Harris III, played by Rose Byrne, the elegant, wealthy wife of the groom's boss whose effortless perfection makes Annie's failures more glaring.
