- During the filming of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, Tom Cruise improvised one of the most famous lines in the movie.

- Many of the practical effects used in the climax were achieved without any CGI.
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation is a 2015 American spy film directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the fifth installment that established McQuarrie as the franchise's primary creative voice. Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt, who has been tracking a shadow organization called the Syndicate β a rogue nation of former intelligence operatives from around the world conducting terrorist attacks to reshape global politics. With the IMF disbanded by a skeptical CIA director played by Alec Baldwin, Hunt must work off the grid with Benji, Luther, and Brandt while navigating an uneasy alliance with Ilsa Faust, played by Rebecca Ferguson, a British agent whose true loyalties remain uncertain.
Rebecca Ferguson's introduction as Ilsa Faust was the film's most significant contribution to the franchise β a character who was Ethan's equal in skill, intelligence, and moral complexity, and whose ambiguous allegiance created genuine uncertainty about the plot's direction. The opening sequence, in which Tom Cruise hung from the exterior of an Airbus A400M during takeoff β performed practically at 5,000 feet β set a new standard for franchise stunts. The underwater sequence at the Vienna opera house, in which Hunt must hold his breath for over three minutes, was another technically impressive set piece.
Rogue Nation earned $682 million worldwide.
