Sing 2 is a 2021 American animated jukebox musical comedy produced by Illumination Entertainment. Buster Moon and his troupe of singing animal performers, having conquered their small-town theater, attempt to audition for the entertainment mogul Jimmy Crystal, a fearsome wolf voiced by Bobby Cannavale, who controls the biggest show venue in Redshore City (the film's version of Las Vegas). When Buster claims he can convince the legendary but reclusive rock star Clay Calloway, a lion voiced by Bono, to perform in their show โ a promise he has no ability to keep โ the troupe must somehow find and persuade the grief-stricken musician to return to the stage while producing a spectacular show under Jimmy's threatening supervision.
Bono's Clay Calloway, a U2-inspired rock star who retreated from public life after his wife's death, brought unexpected emotional depth. Sing 2 earned $408 million worldwide on a $85 million budget.
