Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a 2014 American superhero action film directed by Jonathan Liebesman, produced by Michael Bay. Megan Fox stars as April O'Neil, a New York City journalist who discovers that four mutant turtles trained in ninjitsu by their rat sensei Splinter have been living in the sewers and fighting crime. When the Foot Clan, led by the Shredder, threatens the city with a toxic chemical weapon, the turtles must emerge from hiding to save New York.
The film redesigned the turtles as massive, heavily detailed CGI characters significantly larger and more imposing than previous incarnations, with motion-capture performances by Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Pete Ploszek, and Jeremy Howard. The snowy mountain chase sequence was the film's most entertaining set piece. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles earned $485 million worldwide on a $125 million budget.
