The Equalizer 2 is a 2018 American action thriller directed by Antoine Fuqua, the first sequel in Denzel Washington's career. Washington returns as Robert McCall, a former DIA operative living quietly in Boston as a Lyft driver who dispenses vigilante justice for the vulnerable. When his former handler and close friend Susan Plummer, played by Melissa Leo, is murdered during an investigation in Brussels, McCall discovers that the killers are connected to his own former intelligence colleagues, forcing him to confront a conspiracy within the agency that created him.
