The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! is a 1988 American comedy directed by David Zucker, based on the short-lived television series Police Squad! Leslie Nielsen stars as Lieutenant Frank Drebin, the most incompetent detective in the Los Angeles police department, who stumbles through an investigation to prevent the assassination of Queen Elizabeth II during her visit to a California Angels baseball game.
