The Visit is a 2015 American found-footage horror comedy directed by M. Night Shyamalan. Two children โ 15-year-old Becca, an aspiring filmmaker played by Olivia DeJonge, and her younger brother Tyler, a germophobic rapper played by Ed Oxenbould โ visit their grandparents' remote Pennsylvania farmhouse for the first time, filming a documentary about their family to help their mother reconcile with her estranged parents.
The grandparents, played by Deanna Dunagan and Peter McRobbie, are warm and welcoming during the day but exhibit increasingly disturbing behavior after dark โ Nana crawls naked through the halls, claws at walls, and projectile vomits, while Pop Pop stores soiled adult diapers in the shed. The Visit marked M. Night Shyamalan's return to micro-budget filmmaking after a string of big-budget disappointments, and the self-financed $5 million production's twist ending was one of his most effectively horrifying reveals.
The Visit earned $98 million worldwide.
