What are the best movies of 2025? ThumbScore answers that question using real audience data — not critic reviews or algorithmic recommendations. Our ThumbScore rating shows the percentage of everyday Google users who gave a movie a thumbs up, making it a direct measure of audience enjoyment. This page ranks every 2025 movie release by that score, so you can find the top films of the year that real people actually loved.
From blockbuster sequels to indie darlings, the highest rated 2025 films reflect what everyday moviegoers genuinely enjoyed. Unlike traditional movie ranking sites that rely on critic consensus, ThumbScore reflects the voice of real audiences. A 95% ThumbScore means 95 out of 100 viewers enjoyed the film. We also show the Critics Score (an average of Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic) so you can compare audience and critic opinions on the best new movies of the year.
