Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg star as Bobby and Stig, who are each undercover law enforcement officers — Bobby for the DEA and Stig for Naval Intelligence — neither aware of the other's real identity. They rob a bank that holds $43 million in CIA drug money, and when both their covers are blown, they must team up while being hunted by the CIA, a drug cartel, and their own agencies.

The chemistry between Washington and Wahlberg — Washington's cool authority playing against Wahlberg's jittery, combative energy — drove the comedy and gave the film an appealing buddy dynamic. Bill Paxton appeared as a terrifyingly calm CIA operative. 2 Guns earned $132 million worldwide on a $61 million budget.
