Fall is a 2022 American survival thriller directed by Scott Mann. Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner star as Becky and Hunter, two best friends and experienced climbers who climb an abandoned 2,000-foot TV transmission tower in the California desert for an adrenaline rush and to scatter the ashes of Becky's late husband, who died in a climbing accident. When the ladder breaks beneath them, they are stranded on a platform the size of a dinner table at the top of the tower with no cell service, dwindling water, and circling vultures.
The film generated remarkable tension from the simplest possible premise โ two people stuck very high up with no way down. The vertigo-inducing cinematography, using a combination of practical shots on a real (though shorter) tower and visual effects, created a viscerally effective fear of heights. Fall earned $22 million worldwide on a $3 million budget.
