Murder Mystery is a 2019 American action comedy directed by Kyle Newacheck. Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston star as Nick and Audrey Spitz, a New York cop and his wife on a long-delayed European honeymoon who meet a wealthy stranger on a plane who invites them aboard his family's yacht. When the patriarch is murdered during a dinner party, Nick and Audrey become prime suspects and must solve the crime to clear their names while being pursued across the Mediterranean.
The film was Adam Sandler's first of several major Netflix productions and demonstrated the actor's enormous global streaming appeal β Murder Mystery was viewed by 30.9 million accounts in its first three days, the largest opening weekend for a Netflix film at that time. Sandler and Aniston's bickering-couple chemistry recalled classic screwball comedy partnerships. Murder Mystery spawned a sequel and the film's success solidified Sandler's Netflix partnership.
