Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is a 2022 American mystery film written and directed by Rian Johnson, the standalone sequel to his 2019 hit Knives Out. Daniel Craig returns as the flamboyant Southern detective Benoit Blanc, who receives an invitation to a murder mystery party on a private Greek island owned by tech billionaire Miles Bron, played by Edward Norton. The weekend gathering of Bron's inner circle — including a disgraced model, a men's rights influencer, a scientist, a politician, and Bron's estranged former business partner Andi Brand, played by Janelle Monáe — turns deadly when a real murder disrupts the game.

Rian Johnson constructed another delightfully clever mystery that used its midpoint twist to completely restructure the audience's understanding of what they'd been watching, rewinding to reveal hidden layers. Edward Norton's Miles Bron was a razor-sharp satirization of Silicon Valley billionaire culture — a man whose perceived genius is actually mediocrity propped up by others' stolen work and sycophantic enablers.
