Nobody is a 2021 American action thriller directed by Ilya Naishuller, written by Derek Kolstad (creator of John Wick). Bob Odenkirk stars as Hutch Mansell, a seemingly ordinary suburban husband and father whose monotonous routine โ wake up, miss the garbage truck, go to work at his father-in-law's manufacturing company, come home, repeat โ conceals a lethal past. When a home invasion triggers Hutch's suppressed violent instincts and he brutally beats a group of Russian thugs on a city bus, he draws the attention of Yulian Kuznetsov, a Russian crime boss played by Aleksei Serebryakov, igniting a war that forces Hutch to fully embrace the killer he once was.
Bob Odenkirk, known primarily for his comedic work on Mr. Show and Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, underwent two years of intensive training in firearms, fight choreography, and physical conditioning to perform the role's demanding action sequences convincingly. The bus fight, in which an increasingly battered Hutch methodically dismantles five younger, larger attackers while taking significant punishment, was the film's standout sequence.
Nobody earned $57 million worldwide on a $16 million budget.
