Resident Evil: Apocalypse is a 2004 American science fiction action horror film directed by Alexander Witt, the sequel to Paul W.S. Anderson's 2002 original. Milla Jovovich returns as Alice, who awakens in a deserted, zombie-overrun Raccoon City that has been sealed off and quarantined by the Umbrella Corporation.
As the T-virus turns the city's population into undead horrors, Alice teams up with surviving S.T.A.R.S. members including Jill Valentine, played by Sienna Guillory, to rescue the daughter of the scientist who created the virus before Umbrella's nuclear sterilization of the city. The film introduced the massive Nemesis creature โ a mutated former Umbrella operative wielding a minigun and rocket launcher โ as a formidable physical antagonist for Alice. The franchise expanded Alice's superhuman abilities, making her an increasingly powerful hybrid of human and T-virus enhancement.
Resident Evil: Apocalypse earned $129 million worldwide on a $45 million budget.
