Rise of the Guardians is a 2012 American animated fantasy adventure produced by DreamWorks Animation, directed by Peter Ramsey. The film reimagines childhood mythological figures โ Santa Claus (known as North, voiced by Alec Baldwin), the Easter Bunny (voiced by Hugh Jackman), the Tooth Fairy (voiced by Isla Fisher), and the Sandman โ as a team of supernatural Guardians who protect the world's children. When the Boogeyman, Pitch Black voiced by Jude Law, threatens to engulf the world in fear and darkness, the Man in the Moon recruits Jack Frost, voiced by Chris Pine, a mischievous winter spirit who doesn't understand why he exists, to join the Guardians.
The film's visual design was its greatest strength โ each Guardian's domain was rendered with extraordinary imagination, from North's Russian-steampunk workshop to the Tooth Fairy's ethereal palace. Rise of the Guardians earned $306 million worldwide on a $145 million budget.
