Zombieland: Double Tap is a 2019 American zombie comedy directed by Ruben Fleischer, arriving ten years after the original. Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin return as Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita, and Little Rock, who have settled into the White House but find their family dynamics straining as the younger generation seeks independence. When Little Rock leaves with a pacifist hippie, the group must cross a zombie-infested America to find her, encountering new survivors including Madison, a stereotypically ditzy blonde played by Zoey Deutch, and Nevada, a tough drifter played by Rosario Dawson.
The decade-long gap between films had been kind to the franchise's reputation, and the sequel delivered the expected blend of zombie violence, character comedy, and rules-based survival humor. Zoey Deutch's airheaded Madison was the sequel's most inspired comedic addition. Zombieland: Double Tap earned $122 million worldwide on a $42 million budget.
