Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a 2022 American superhero horror film directed by Sam Raimi, representing the veteran director's return to the genre filmmaking that had defined his early career. Benedict Cumberbatch returns as Doctor Strange, who must protect America Chavez, a teenager played by Xochitl Gomez with the ability to punch star-shaped portals between dimensions, from the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, who seeks America's power to travel to a universe where her children — created and lost during the events of the WandaVision series — still exist.
