Doctor Strange is a 2016 American superhero film directed by Scott Derrickson and produced by Marvel Studios. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange, a brilliant but arrogant neurosurgeon whose career is destroyed when a devastating car accident causes severe nerve damage to his hands.

Desperate to restore his surgical abilities, Strange travels to Kamar-Taj in Nepal, where he is trained in the mystic arts by the Ancient One, played by Tilda Swinton, and discovers hidden dimensions of reality that he must protect from the dark sorcerer Kaecilius and the interdimensional entity Dormammu.
