Enola Holmes is a 2020 American mystery film directed by Harry Bradbeer, based on Nancy Springer's young adult novel series. Millie Bobby Brown stars as Enola Holmes, the brilliant, unconventional teenage sister of Sherlock Holmes, played by Henry Cavill, and Mycroft Holmes, played by Sam Claflin, who was raised by their free-thinking, feminist mother, played by Helena Bonham Carter. When their mother disappears on Enola's 16th birthday, leaving behind a series of coded clues, Enola must use the deductive skills her mother taught her to find her while evading Mycroft's attempts to send her to finishing school and stumbling into a conspiracy involving a young runaway lord.
Millie Bobby Brown's charismatic, fourth-wall-breaking performance carried the film with infectious energy, speaking directly to the audience with the confidence of a character who knows she's the most interesting person in any room โ including rooms containing Sherlock Holmes. Enola Holmes became one of Netflix's most-watched original films and spawned a sequel.
