Kung Fu Panda 3 is a 2016 American-Chinese animated martial arts comedy produced by DreamWorks Animation. Po finally reunites with his biological father Li Shan, voiced by Bryan Cranston, and travels to a secret panda village in the mountains where he discovers an entire community of pandas who have been living in hiding. When the supernatural warrior Kai, voiced by J.K.
Simmons, escapes from the Spirit Realm and begins stealing the chi of kung fu masters across China to increase his power, Po must teach the village of uncoordinated, nap-loving pandas to fight and unlock the secret of chi to defeat a threat that even Master Shifu cannot overcome. The panda village sequences, with their rotund inhabitants rolling, bouncing, and stumbling through training montages, were consistently delightful. Kung Fu Panda 3 was the first Hollywood animated film co-produced with a Chinese studio, Oriental DreamWorks.
The film earned $521 million worldwide on a $145 million budget.
