Wrath of the Titans is a 2012 American fantasy action film directed by Jonathan Liebesman, the sequel to the 2010 Clash of the Titans remake. Sam Worthington returns as Perseus, now a demigod fisherman living peacefully with his young son, who is called back to action when Zeus, played by Liam Neeson, is captured by Hades and Ares and drained of his divine power to resurrect the Titan lord Kronos — a massive, lava-dripping entity whose awakening would destroy the world. The film improved on the original's 3D presentation by shooting natively in the format, and the climactic Kronos battle — featuring a mountain-sized Titan of molten rock — was impressive in scale.
Wrath of the Titans earned $305 million worldwide on a $150 million budget. The film confirmed the franchise's enduring commercial viability and demonstrated the property's appeal to global audiences, solidifying its place in the modern entertainment landscape and paving the way for future installments.
