Big Hero 6 is a 2014 American animated superhero film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, loosely based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name. Set in the fictional city of San Fransokyo β a vibrant mashup of San Francisco and Tokyo β the film follows Hiro Hamada, a 14-year-old robotics prodigy who forms a superhero team with four of his brother Tadashi's friends and Baymax, an inflatable healthcare robot companion that Tadashi created before his untimely death. When a masked villain threatens the city using Hiro's own stolen technology, the unlikely team must work together to stop him while Hiro grapples with grief and the temptation to use Baymax as a weapon of revenge rather than healing.
Baymax, with his marshmallow-like design and gentle, literal-minded personality, became the film's breakout character and one of Disney Animation's most beloved creations.
