War films ask a lot of an audience: the scale, the losses, the history they carry. The best of them earn every minute, and the ones critics call masterpieces are not always the ones viewers sit through twice.
Prime Video's library is enormous and chaotic. Half the catalog feels like it was uploaded by robots. But buried in the noise are some genuinely great war films if you know where to look.
Every film on this list earned its place with real audiences, whether it is a battle epic, a quiet story of the people left at home, or the true account of a single mission.
Every movie on this list is ranked by ThumbScore — the percentage of everyday people who liked the film. No critic gatekeeping, no algorithmic manipulation. Just real audience verdicts.
