The Best War Movies on Netflix

War films ask a lot of an audience: the scale, the losses, the history they carry. The best of them earn every minute, and the ones critics call masterpieces are not always the ones viewers sit through twice.

Netflix's library is massive, which means it has everything — and also a lot of nothing. Sorting through the catalog without a guide is a recipe for wasting an evening scrolling. This list cuts through the noise to the war movies that audiences actually loved.

Every film on this list earned its place with real audiences, whether it is a battle epic, a quiet story of the people left at home, or the true account of a single mission.

Every movie on this list is ranked by ThumbScore — the percentage of everyday people who liked the film. No critic gatekeeping, no algorithmic manipulation. Just real audience verdicts.
