The Best Sci-Fi Movies on Netflix

Sci-Fi is where filmmaking ambition meets audience imagination. Critics get distracted by whether the science is 'hard' enough or the metaphors are deep enough. Audiences care about one thing: did the movie blow their mind?

Netflix's library is massive, which means it has everything — and also a lot of nothing. Sorting through the catalog without a guide is a recipe for wasting an evening scrolling. This list cuts through the noise to the sci-fi movies that audiences actually loved.

From space epics to cyberpunk thrillers to mind-bending time travel, these are the sci-fi films that real viewers rated highest.

Every movie on this list is ranked by ThumbScore — the percentage of everyday people who liked the film. No critic gatekeeping, no algorithmic manipulation. Just real audience verdicts.
